BUENA VISTA, VA. — The Southern Virginia University men's tennis team opened their 2022 spring season, taking on Pfeiffer University. The Knights dominated the courts, taking down the Falcons 7-2.
Match Notes
- Marcos Dias and Benton Drake made quick work of their doubles match, defeating their opponents 8-2, with Mason Pitcher and Ethan Cambell finishing up with an 8-0 win
- Daniel Blonquist and Tanner Bassett was the third team to finish, edging out their opposition 8-7
- In singles play, Marcos Dias dominated 6-2 and 6-1, while Daniel Blonquist continued to impress with a 6-0 and 6-1 outing
- Mason Pitcher had a solid singles match, dominating his opponent 6-3 and 6-0, while Marlo Perez-Urrutia wrapped things up with a three-set victory 6-4, 3-6, 1-0
Southern Virginia returns home on Saturday, March 5, to take on Ohio Northern. Match time is slated for 10am.
