BUENA VISTA, VA. — The Southern Virginia University men's volleyball team took on Liberty University Tuesday night in Knight Arena, sweeping the Flames 3-0.

Nahuel Recabarren: Game-high 11 kills | five blocks | three digs

Kyler Evans: Three aces | two digs | two kills

McKay Walker: Nine kills | .643 hitting average | four blocks

Game Notes

• The Knights set the tempo early, going ahead 13-6 in the first set led by two McKay Walker kills
• Southern Virginia dominated the rest of the set, winning 25-17 and going ahead 1-0 off of a final Kristo Bianchin Puente kill
• Liberty put up a strong effort in the second set, coming within three points late in the second set 17-20
• McKay Walker put the second set away with a kill, with the team taking the set 25-19
• Midway through the final set, Southern Virginia held onto the one-point lead 12-11 before Kyler Evans sparked a 4-0 scoring run to go up 16-11
• Both teams went back and forth, but the Knights completed the sweep thanks to a final attack error from the Flames 

Southern Virginia takes on Randolph-Macon on Friday, March 11, in Knight Arena. Game time is slated for 7 pm.
