Buena Vista, Va. – The Virginia Sports Information Directors Association (VaSID) released its 2024 College Division All-State Football teams on Thursday, with
Alex Silvester earning Offensive Rookie of the Year honors while also being named to the Second-Team Offense as a tight end.
A standout freshman from Houston, Texas, Silvester made an immediate impact in his debut season, leading the USA South Conference with a league rookie-best 449 receiving yards. Averaging 13.6 yards per catch and hauling in three touchdowns, his performance solidified him as one of the top young offensive players in the state.
VaSID selects 44 all-state teams across 23 sports annually, recognizing both individual and team achievements in the University and College Divisions. The organization also names an Academic All-State team and an All-Sports Champion each year. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a university or conference within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
