BUENA VISTA, Va. — Southern Virginia University Football has announced its 2025 schedule, featuring a balanced slate of five home and five away games as the Knights prepare for their fifth season in the USA South Athletic Conference.
Due to the departure of Maryville College to the Southern Athletic Association, the Knights will play seven conference games this season instead of the usual eight.
Southern Virginia's much-anticipated home opener is set for September 6 against longtime rival Apprentice School at Knight Stadium. This will mark the 17th meeting between the programs, who first faced off in 2003 and are currently tied in the all-time series at 8-8.
The Knights will then travel to Danville, Va., on September 13 to take on former conference opponent Averett University before wrapping up non-conference play in Pennsylvania with a first-time matchup against Keystone College.
USA South conference action begins at home on October 4 against Greensboro College, where the Knights are 1-1 in home matchups against the Pride and will look to start conference play strong.
October 18th, Methodist will be the opponent for Southern Virginia University's homecoming weekend. Homecoming serves as one of the most exciting weekends of the college football season, as the Knights welcome back numerous alumni and their families to campus. Southern Virginia defeated Methodist on the road last season, and will look to put on a show in front of a large home crowd. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 PM.
Southern Virginia will close its regular season at home against LaGrange College, with the series currently tied at 2-2.
