Millington, Tenn. – The Southern Virginia University men's golf team delivered a historic performance at the Rhodes Spring Classic, setting the program's lowest 54-hole team score in school history at +37 (901) to secure a third-place finish in an 11-team field. The Knights improved significantly from their previous program record of 934, set at last year's conference championship.

Competing at Mirimichi Golf Course (Par 72), the Knights showcased their depth and resilience, overcoming a challenging first round (+24) with a strong comeback during the 36-hole day.

Head Coach Blair Garner praised the team's grit, saying, "We were just a few putts away from winning. Very proud of our guys. Playing 36/18 is always a marathon, and to have our best round on Monday afternoon after already playing 18 tells you how mentally tough our team is."

Individual Highlights:

T-7th | Nick Johnson (+9, 225 strokes) – 78 (+6), 73 (+1), and 74 (+2), highlighted by six birdies in the final round.

13th | Michael McCaffrey (+11, 227 strokes) – Recovered from a tough start with rounds of 83 (+11), 69 (-3), and 75 (+3), with his 69 being the lowest round of the day in round two.

T-14th | Charles Price (+12, 228 strokes) – Consistent play with 78 (+6), 75 (+3), and 75 (+3).

T-16th | Nikko Taggart (+13, 229 strokes) – 80 (+8), 76 (+4), and 73 (+1), jumping four spots on the leaderboard with three birdies in the final round.

Will Agnew (232 strokes, +16) – Steady scores of 79 (+7), 75 (+3), and 78 (+6).

Kaden Ford (235 strokes, +19) – Posted rounds of 78 (+6), 80 (+8), and 78 (+6).

The Knights will now turn their attention to their final regular-season event, competing at the Glen Heath Invitational in Williamsburg, Va., hosted by The Apprentice School.
