Harrisonburg, Va. – The Southern Virginia University men's golf team turned in a strong performance at the 2025 Kinder-Williams Invitational hosted by Bridgewater College, finishing second overall in a competitive field of 16 teams featuring some of the top programs in Virginia.
Nick Johnson led the Knights with a career-best outing, finishing runner-up individually at 3-under (141). After going even-par in round one, Johnson fired a 69 in round two, highlighted by five birdies and an eagle on the final day.
Close behind were teammates Nikko Taggart and Will Agnew, who both carded 1-under (143) to tie for fifth. Each delivered consistent play and tallied four birdies apiece on the second day to help solidify the Knights' team standing.
Rounding out the A-Team, Charles Price and Jett Oliverson tied for 40th (+8), providing steady rounds that pushed Southern Virginia into second place in the stacked field.
The Knights' B-Team also impressed, tying for eighth place with Roanoke College. Caden Bertagnole and Kaden Ford paced the group, both tying for 21st at +4. Bertnagole opened strong with a 71 on day one, while Ford bounced back with a 71 on day two to match him in the standings.
Freshman Andrew Huff continued his solid debut season, finishing T56th at +12 (74–82). Spencer Norris showed significant improvement between rounds, posting 84 and 74 to land T62nd (+14), while Sam Buckwalter closed with T70th after rounds of 76 and 85.
The Knights now take a short break before returning to competition at the Glory Days Invitational on Monday, September 29, hosted by Shenandoah University at Winchester Golf Course.
