Southern Virginia Women’s Track & Field Picked To Capture Third Consecutive Indoor Title

BUENA VISTA, Va. - Ahead of the USA South Track & Field indoor championships this Friday, the conference released its annual pre-championship coaches poll.

At the conclusion of a record-breaking regular season, the Southern Virginia University women's track and field team sits atop the poll, a familiar place for the reigning back-to-back champs.

The Knights earned five of seven first-place votes, while North Carolina Wesleyan and Meredith split the remaining two.

Numerous program records across six different events have been broken over the course of the regular season, and several conference athletes of the week have been won by Southern Virginia. With a spread of quality athletes through all event areas, this year's edition of the Knights looks to emerge as one of their best teams in program history.

Currently, the team holds top marks for the conference in eight events, including all five distance events.

Since the conference began sponsoring indoor track and field, beginning with the 2024 season, the Southern Virginia women have yet to be knocked off their perch as team champions.
