INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The NCAA announced the field for the 2026 Division III Women's Golf Championship on Monday evening, with Southern Virginia University's Sydney Richards earning one of six individual selections to the national championship field.
Richards, a junior from Farmington, Utah, is currently ranked No. 19 in Division III according to Clippd, and becomes the first women's golfer in program history to compete at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship.
The championship field will feature both team and individual competition conducted concurrently, with 34 teams and six individual golfers participating. Following 36 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and the top six individuals not competing with an advancing team for the final two rounds.
In the team competition, the lowest four scores from each team during each round will count toward the team total.
The championship will take place May 19–22 at Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, California, with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges serving as the host institution.
