EMORY, Va. In a rematch from earlier in the season, the Southern
Virginia Volleyball team was unable to get a positive result
against Emory & Henry as they fell 3-0. The Knights could not
overcome the ODAC school for the second time, as they lost the
match in three sets 23-25, 25-27 and 19-25.
The Knights were led by Ashley Miles who recorded 11 kills for
the match and Ali Krebs who again led the Knights in assists with
20. The duo helped keep SVU in the match, and was supported by
Brynn Hansen and Sam Sumsion who both had 6 kills on the evening.
"We just can't seem to get past them," said Head Coach Bran
Pendleton. "They have a great middle, and we could not beat them.
We'll look for a quick turnaround, to get back to .500 on the
season."
SVU will look to regroup quickly, as they face off for a third
match against Eastern Mennonite. The match is scheduled for Oct. 10
with a 3:00 start time. The Knights sit at 11-12 on the season.
