BUENA VISTA, Va.—Playing at home for the second time this season, the Southern Virginia University women's volleyball team kept momentum to win its fourth consecutive match in straight sets with a 25-16, 25-18, 25-10 victory over Eastern Mennonite University Tuesday night at Knight Sports Arena.

With the victory, the Knights improve to 5-4 on the season while the Royals fall to 6-8.

"I'm happy with the victory because we beat a pretty good team," said Southern Virginia head coach Paige Hiatt. "I think EMU plays great defense and they pass really well, so I'm happy with the fact that we adjusted to what they were trying to do. We played with more heart and came out swinging. It was also nice to see girls come off the bench and get some quality playing time."

Senior Tori Tuttle led the Knights in kills with 11, while junior Kaitlyn Eaton and sophomore Shannon Romito provided eight kills apiece. Southern Virginia earned 34 kills to EMU's 22 and had just 12 attack errors on 81 attempts. Senior Shyanne Ison tallied four kills for the night.

Setter Katelynn Tlustek paved the way for the Knight attack by achieving 29 assists during the game. Southern Virginia was effective on serves as the Knights earned 10 service aces with only seven errors.

On defense, the Knights were led by freshman April Bennett, who had 11 digs during the match while freshman McKenzie Weaver provided four. Eaton earned two solo blocks on the night to go with a block assist with three other Knights achieving one block assist apiece.

The Royals' Kayley Argenbright and Kaitlin Miller each had five kills while Dee Probst earned six.

The Knights return to action Friday night with a 6:30 p.m. match at Roanoke College in Roanoke, Va.
