DOVER, Del.— In the final conference game of the 2015 season the Knights came up short on the road against Wesley College falling 21-8.
A conference win has been elusive for the Knights (1-14, 0-8), who have never beaten a CAC opponent in program history.
Wesley College (6-8, 1-7) earned their only conference win of the year as they controlled the tempo in the first half, only allowing one Knight goal in the first 30 minutes of play.
A Casey Rich goal in the eighth minute made the score 4-1 for the Wolverines, but the opponents would score the next 10 goals, and take a 13-1 halftime lead.
The Knight's were able to score three goals in the third quarter thanks to freshman attack Anthony Good, who scored two and assisted Sean Peterson in the third goal.
In the fourth quarter Wesley was able to score four more in the first five minutes, but would go quiet for the rest of the game. The Knights were able to match their four fourth quarter goals.
In about a six-minute period both Anthony Good and Sean Peterson, from a Russell Anderson pass, would score in man-up opportunities. Ryan Larsen and Rich also added a score for the Knights to bring them to eight, a number just above their season average.
The 21-8 loss marks the seventh straight for the young team which doesn't have a senior on its roster. A non-conference game may be added to the schedule for next week.
