Women's Lacrosse Downed by Saints

BUENA VISTA, Va.—The Southern Virginia women's lacrosse game lost 18-5 to Capital Athletic Conference opponent Marymount University on Saturday afternoon.

Marymount (8-4, 2-2 CAC) started the game on a six-goal run to take an early lead. Zoe Bradshaw and Ashley Ahlgren each added a goal for the Knights (6-7, 0-5 CAC) in the first half but the Saints had a 13-2 lead at halftime.

Southern Virginia started out the second half strong, scoring two quick goals by Rainey Whitworth and Megan Barfuss but Marymount scored five more times as they ran out the clock.

Bradshaw led the Knights with two goals. Whitworth, Ahlgren, and Barfuss each had one.

Melanie Lytle played in goal for the Knights and recorded eight saves.

The Knights host Division II Chowan University on Wednesday, April 6 at 4 p.m.
