Women's Volleyball Falls in Semifinal at Mary Washington

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — The Southern Virginia University women's volleyball team ended the 2017 season with a heartbreaking 3-0 loss to Mary Washington on Thursday night, tying the best finish in program history.

The Knights finish the season 22-8, the best record in 10 years, and best in the NCAA Division III era.

Game scores were 25-17, 25-18, and 25-22.

Southern Virginia's attack was led by Penny Gwynn and Hannah Allred who recorded seven and five kills. Allred posted a game-high 12 digs along with libero MyKynli Knight. Setter LaRee Crockett dished 19 assists in the loss.
