Baseball Downed by Frostburg State

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Southern Virginia University baseball team dropped their game against Frostburg State University on Monday by a score of 20-2.

The Bobcats (9-8, 2-3 CAC) plated four runners in the third inning, five in the fourth inning, and six in the fifth, on their way to scoring 20 runs. The Knights (8-16, 2-4 CAC) scored two runs and had seven hits for the game.

In the fourth, Zach McNally scored on a fielder's choice after being hit by a pitch earlier in the inning.

The bottom half of the fifth started with a Ryan Saunders single to left field, who advanced to third on a base hit by Justin King. During the next at bat, Cole Critchfield brought Saunders home by grounding out to the second baseman.

Riley Daniels took the loss on the mound for the Knights, lasting 3.1 innings. 

Southern Virginia will travel to Fredericksburg, Virginia on Wednesday to take on the University of Mary Washington. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
