BUENA VISTA, Va. — The Southern Virginia University women's lacrosse team fell 16-6 to Division II opponent Emmanuel College at The Fields Wednesday night.
Senior Zoe Bradshaw scored her first goal of the night in the first minutes of the game to give the Knights (2-4, 0-1 CAC) an early lead. The Lions (4-3, 2-2 CC) went on an 8-3 run to take control of the game going into halftime.
Emmanuel secured their win by scoring eight consecutive goals in the second half and holding Southern Virginia to two goals in the final minutes of the game.
Bradshaw, Southern Virginia's leading goal scorer, led the Knights with three goals and one assist. Claire Houghtaling, Madeleine DuPaix, and Lauren Thatcher each contributed a goal.
Emmanuel outshot the Knights 29 to 21. Keilani Torres-Lopez had five saves in goal for the Knights.
Southern Virginia travels to Hilton Head, South Carolina next week as they take on Salve Regina and Ramapo on March 15 and 16.
