BUENA VISTA, Va. — The Southern Virginia University women's lacrosse team fell 19-7 to non-conference opponent Greensboro College on Monday afternoon.
The Pride (7-7, 3-3 USA South) took a quick 3-0 lead minutes into the game before the Knights (3-13, 0-7 CAC) found the back of the net. Greensboro then took an 8-3 lead with four minutes remaining in the first half, but Southern Virginia rallied for three goals to bring them within two at halftime.
The Knights were only able to score once in the second half and allowed 11 goals.
Claire Houghtaling and Majkaleah Knowles led the Knights with two goals apiece. Zoe Bradshaw, Kelsey Johnson, and Rachel Thomas each contributed a goal. Ashley Lessing recorded an assist for the Knights.
Keilani Torres-Lopez played in goal and recorded eight saves.
The Knights will look for their first CAC win as they host Wesley on Saturday, April 15 for their final game of the season. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST, with the senior recognition ceremony set for halftime.
