BUENA VISTA, Va. — The Southern Virginia University men's lacrosse team lost 11-10, due to a goal in the final seconds, in a close fight against Frostburg State University.

The Bobcats (8-4, 4-1 CAC) scored four goals in the first quarter to take a controlling lead but the Knights answered in the second quarter. Brady Cook found the back of the net in the first minutes of the quarter to start a run for the Knights and go into halftime tied 4-4.

The lead was exchanged multiple times between the two teams in the second half. Goals from Shawn Lamb and Anthony Good in the last minute of the third quarter gave the Knights a two-goal lead. However, the Bobcats tied the game with six minutes remaining.

Casey Rich answered with two goals of his own to take a two-point lead, but Frostburg maintained possession in the final two minutes, scoring three goals, including game-winning goal with 14 seconds remaining.

Rich led the Knights with three goals and two assists. Cook and Lamb each contributed two goals. Spencer Tunick, Ryan Larsen, and Anthony Good combined for the remaining three goals in the game.

Frostburg outshot Southern Virginia 37-23. Carson Franklin recorded 10 saves in goal for the Knights.

Southern Virginia hosts No. 10 York College of Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 8 at 1 p.m. EST for their final home game of the season.
