NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – After facing off against Capital Athletic Conference opponent Christopher Newport University Wednesday afternoon, the Southern Virginia University women's lacrosse team was defeated 20-2.
Christopher Newport (8-8, 4-3 CAC) dominated the first half, scoring ten unanswered goals in a 20-minute span.
The Knights (5-10, 0-7 CAC) came out firing in the second half with an unassisted goal from Natalie Rice, but the Captains were able to score five goals before Caiti Knowles scored Southern Virginia's only other goal.
On Saturday at 3 p.m. the Knights will take on York College of Pennsylvania at home in their final Capital Athletic Conference matchup.
