Box Score FROSTBURG, Md. — For the second time this season, the Southern Virginia University men's lacrosse team scored nine goals at Frostburg State University, this time in a 14-9 loss in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference playoffs.
The Bobcats (10-8) held the Knights (10-8) scoreless in the first quarter, scoring four goals of their own to take an early lead.
Southern Virginia bounced back in the second quarter, outscoring the hosts 3-1 with goals from Brady Cook, Cayd Rich, and Isaac DeGarlais to cut the halftime lead to just a pair.
Shawn Lamb scored a goal less than four minutes into the third to kick off a nine-score quarter that included back-to-back goals by Tennison Schmidt and Seth Garff to bring the Knights within one.
The Bobcats never quit, scoring four of the six goals in the fourth quarter to win 14-9. Anthony Good led the team with two goals, Seth Garff dished three assists. Carter Bean recorded a goal and an assist.
With the loss, the Knights conclude their 2018 season with ten wins, the most in program history.
