Box Score SALISBURY, Md. — The Southern Virginia University women's volleyball team battled with Salisbury University in a 25-14, 25-15, 25-10 loss in their final away game of regular season play.
The Knights (14-11) fought hard, but the Sea Gulls (16-8) executed what they needed to complete the sweep.
Freshman Kylee Christensen led the team with a .235 hitting average, while senior LaRee Crockett dished out 14 assists. Mykynli Knight played solid defensively with 15 digs, and Lindsay Wiedrich did what she needed to at the net with four blocks.
Southern Virginia kept things close in the first set. The Knights and the Sea Gulls were tied 14-14 before Salisbury scored ten straight points to take the set.
The Sea Gulls continued their run and dominated again in the second set to go up 2-0 on the Knights.
Southern Virginia did everything they could to get back on the right track, but Salisbury's attacking was enough to secure the sweep over the Knights.
St. Mary's comes to town on Tuesday, October 29, as Southern Virginia looks to bounce back and earn another conference win.
