Knights Earn Fourth Straight Win

FERRUM, Va.—The Southern Virginia University women's lacrosse teamed dominated Ferrum College 18-3 on Wednesday afternoon improving their record to 4-1 on the season.

The Knights jumped out to an early lead on the Panthers (1-2) scoring the games' first 8 goals before Ferrum was finally able to get on the board at the 15:01 mark.

The rest of the half was all Southern Virginia as they tacked on another five goals to take a 13-1 lead into the break.

The Knights slowed down the attack in the second, but still outscored the Panthers 5-2 in the half, winning their fourth straight game 18-3.

Lauren Thatcher led the way for the Knights with a game-high four goals. Sydney Winterton also made her presence known, scoring a pair of goals and dishing out a season-high three assists while Natalie Rice added a hat-trick of goals to go along with her game-high six draw controls.

Southern Virginia looks to continue on their success as they play host to Goucher College on the 9th of March at 4 p.m.
