Box Score BUENA VISTA, Va. — The Southern Virginia University men's lacrosse team dropped a Capital Athletic Conference matchup against Frostburg State Wednesday night, falling 21-16 on senior day.
The Knights (5-11, 0-5) worked to an early 2-1 lead coming from unassisted Zach Danneman goals. The Bobcats (8-6, 1-3) responded with three consecutive goals to close out the quarter ahead 4-2.
In the second quarter, Frostburg State outscored the Knights 6-2 extending their lead 10-4 at the half.
For the third consecutive quarter, the Bobcats outpaced the Knights scoring six goals compared to Southern Virginia's four, now doubling them 16-8 heading into the final quarter.
The Knights attempted to get within striking distance outscoring the Bobcats 8-5 but were unable to shrink the lead to fall 21-16.
Shawn Lamb led the Knights with six points scoring four goals and adding a pair of assists. Danneman tallied a game-high five goals while Chandler Wescott contributed four goals and an assist. Senior Brady Cook recorded a game-high three assists.
Ian Arave was in the crease for the Knights where he registered 22 saves in the loss.
Southern Virginia concludes the regular season this Saturday, April 20 on the road at No.1 Salisbury University starting at 2:00 p.m.
