Box Score BUENA VISTA, VA. — The Southern Virginia University women's volleyball team squared off against Averett University Thursday night in a rematch, taking down the Cougars in four sets 3-1.

- Brenna Clyde continued her dominance, adding two more kills and a block assist, extending the team's lead to 11 points 23-12
- Southern Virginia closed out the set, with a kill from Sydney Hopkin and an attacking error from Averett to take the 1-0 lead
- Midway through the second set, Southern Virginia found themselves down 18-12, but Courtney Pinkston ignited a 6-0 run to tie the game up at 18

- The Knights began to pull away, when crucial attacking errors from the Cougars sparked an 8-2 scoring run to go up 23-17
- Elle Warnick connected with Courtney Pinkston to set up match point 24-19, and a final attacking error from Averett secured the 3-1 victory for the Knights
Southern Virginia travels to Rocky Mount, NC, taking on NC Wesleyan and Methodist and doubleheader weekend on Saturday, October 23. Game one is scheduled for 10 am, and game two is scheduled for 2 pm.
