Box Score 2 STAUNTON, VA. — The Southern Virginia University women's volleyball team went undefeated in their double-header weekend, defeating Virginia Union 3-1 and sweeping Mary Baldwin Saturday afternoon.

Game One Notes
- Knights took a quick set one after trailing 9-4 early on
- Elle Warnick helped lead the team back with eight assists, while Courtney Pinkston led all players with four kills to take set one 25-14
- Both teams kept it close in the second set staying within one point of each other, but Southern Virginia pulled away, taking set two 25-16
- The Knights recorded six service aces, three of which came from Emma Steiger in the second set
- After dropping the third set, Southern Virginia ended the game quickly, winning set four 25-11
- Brenna Clyde let the final set with four kills
Game Two Notes
- The Knights dominated in their first two sets, only allowing 21 total points
- Elle Warnick and Courtney Pinkston continued to lead the team on the offensive side
- Emma Steiger and Jilane Pedersen anchored the defensive side with eight digs and four blocks
- With a dominant sweep in sight, Southern Virginia leaped to a 10-2 advantage led by two Clyde and Pinkston kills
- Mary Baldwin was hopeful of a comeback, cutting the deficit to five, but the Knights completed the sweep, taking the final set 25-15
Southern Virginia travels to North Carolina to take on Greensboro for a mid-week game on Wednesday, September 22. Game time is slated for 6 pm.
