Box Score DANVILLE, VA. — The Southern Virginia University women's volleyball team was handed their first conference defeat of the season Wednesday night, falling to Averett University in four sets 3-1.

- Regrouping in the second set, Southern Virginia gained a 7-2 lead started by a Brenna Clyde kill and led by two Sydney Hopkin kills

- Southern Virginia was unable to complete the comeback, with Averett claiming the following two sets, locking in their 3-1 victory over the Knights
Southern Virginia travels to Staunton, Virginia, for a doubleheader weekend on Saturday, October 2. The Knights will take on NC Wesleyan at noon, and Methodist at 2 pm.
