DAYTONA, FL. — The Southern Virginia University cheer team made the trip down south to Daytona, Florida to compete in the NCA Nationals for the first time in program history in one of the largest competitions in the world.
The team competed hard in the Advanced Small Coed Division against five other NCAA Division 3 programs, coming away with a second-place finish in the prelims and finishing fourth overall in the competition.
"The fact that they took this National stage to represent our little school from Virginia made us emotional," exclaimed Head Coach Neely Pendleton. "It was a dream come true to perform on the BandShell and the Southern Virginia cheer team did not disappoint! We are so very proud of them!"
Notes from the Judges:
- Image and sportsmanship were displayed with integrity, wholesome All-American behavior, and appropriate appearance.
- You represent your school well.
