BUENA VISTA, Va. - Back into championship season, the Southern Virginia University men's track and field team is set to compete for the 2026 USA South Indoor Championship.
On Tuesday afternoon, the USA South released its pre-championship poll for the men's event. As defending champs, the Knights were picked to be in the mix for their third team title.
With two first place votes, Southern Virginia sits tied for second with North Carolina Wesleyan in the poll, while the defending outdoor champions, Pfeiffer, are favored to win with four first-place votes.

A young contingent of field athletes has been a bright spot for the Southern Virginia men's team this season.
McCormick Johnson leads the conference in the pole vault, thanks to his season best vault of 4.50m (14' 9"), while AJ Word and Jakaidyn Ross are posting the best triple jump results in program history.
The Knights are winners of the first two indoor team titles in conference history, and have four straight indoor titles dating back to their participation in the Dlll Atlantic Indoor championships.
