Career vs. Wolverines: 0-5. The Knights lost the last meeting at Wesley 59-6 on Oct. 5, 2015.

About the Knights

The Southern Virginia football team is looking for their first New Jersey Athletic Conference win after falling on the road to Frostburg State and at home to No. 15 Salisbury.

The Knights average almost 12 points per game and 238 yards offensively. Senior Michael Frye leads the team with 162 yards rushing and a touchdown. Seth Hanson also has a touchdown this season and 115 yards on the ground.

Defensively the Knights average 2.5 takeaways per game. Last Saturday the defense forced Salisbury's first two turnovers of the season.

Neil Davis was named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week and Keenan Galeai earned NJAC Offensive Rookie of the Week after their performances in week one.

Southern Virginia Coach Joe DuPaix

Coach DuPaix comes to Southern Virginia from Brigham Young where he served two seasons (2011-12) as the Cougar's recruiting coordinator and running backs coach. Working under then head coach Bronco Mendenhall, DuPaix was part of the staff that led the Cougars to an 18-8 overall record, including back-to-back bowl wins and a 10-win season in 2011.

Before BYU, DuPaix coached the slot backs at the United States Naval Academy. During his three years in Annapolis, the Midshipmen appeared in three consecutive bowl games, won two Commander-In-Chief trophies and ranked in the top-ten nationally for rushing offenses each season. He was also part of Navy's 10-win season in 2009.

Two weeks ago Coach DuPaix led the Knights to their season-opening win at Earlham College. The Knights defeated the Quakers 28-18.

Outlook from Coach DuPaix

Wesley is a very well coached team and is very athletic, strong and powerful. We will have our hands full this week playing one of the four playoff finalists in Division III last year, that is deep in every position.

Wesley has a different offensive philosophy which will be a different challenge for us. The defense has had a great week of preparation.

The key to the game is to win the turnover battle. Offensively we have to play assignment-sound football and create big plays while being smart with the football and locking the ball up.

About the Wolverines

After a season-opening loss to Delaware Valley, last year's NJAC co-champions beat Frostburg State at home, before falling at Christopher Newport two weeks ago. Wesley travels to Buena Vista coming off of their bye week and averaging 28 points and 428 yards per game.

Junior quarterback Dan Kesack averages 231 yards per game and has seven touchdowns this year. Senior runningback Jamar Baynard averages 75 yards per game and has four touchdowns on the ground.

Wesley, who recently dropped out of the top 25, is still receiving votes and is looking to make the list once more.
