BUENA VISTA, Va. — On a chilly Friday night on which both the seniors were honored and the newly-built Knight Stadium was officially dedicated, the Southern Virginia University football team dropped their conference matchup with No. 18 Frostburg State by a score of 35-3.

The Bobcats (7-1, 6-1 NJAC) shot out to an early lead, scoring two touchdowns in 10 minutes to start the game. The Knights (1-7, 0-7 NJAC) then put together a nice drive, highlighted by a 43-yard rush by Simi Moala, and finished with a field goal from 40 yards off the foot of Jackson Hatch.

Frostburg would punch in two more touchdowns in the second quarter and another in the third, rounding out the scoring for both teams.

Southern Virginia managed to pick up 156 yards of total offense in the game, with 151 of them coming on the ground. Moala led the team in rushing with 47 yards, while sophomore quarterback Ty Jones and freshman running back Jewka Patetefa had 33 yards each.

On the defensive side of the ball, sophomore Neil Davis finished with nine tackles and a forced fumble, linebacker Matt Call had eight tackles, and defensive backs Mitch Orme and Trevor Laurey each had seven. Linemen Caleb Thomas and Anthony Siilata each recorded a sack as well.

Fourteen seniors were recognized before the game for their dedication and contributions to the program. At halftime, Glade Knight and his family cut the ribbon to officially open and celebrate the new Knight Stadium. The dedication of the stadium, which was performed by Mitch Scott, a member of the Board of Trustees, took place earlier Friday in the University's Convocation.

The Knights hit the road next weekend as they travel to New Jersey to take on William Paterson University. Kickoff is set for Saturday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m.
