SALEM, VA. — The Southern Virginia University women's lacrosse team debuted in their 2022 season Thursday night, taking on Roanoke College. The Knights were unable to overcome their opponent, falling to the Maroons 19-1.

Game Notes

• Roanoke's offense was firing on all cylinders to start the game, going ahead 10-0 early over Southern Virginia
• At the half, the Maroons held the 15-0 lead over the Knights
• Southern Virginia's defense held their ground in the second half, only allowing four total goals
• At the 10:29 mark of the third quarter, Natalie Yule scored the team's lone goal of the game unassisted
• Roanoke maintained time of possession the remainder of the game, to take home the 19-1 victory

Southern Virginia returns to action on Tuesday, March 1, taking on Bridgewater for the team's home opener in Knight Arena. Game time is scheduled for 6 pm.
